Receive alerts that can help you spot fraudulent account activity

When you receive your First American Bank debit card, you're automatically enrolled in our fraud monitoring program. Your card activity is monitored constantly. If we detect potential fraud, we send you a text alert, email and call you to ensure you're aware of the activity.

  • Texts come from 22573 whenever we detect potential fraud
  • Emails are sent from us immediately
  • Automated phone calls from 1-800-537-0496 are generated between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. Central time

All you need to do is tell us whether you authorized the transaction. If you didn't, your debit card will be blocked to protect your account. To make this system work, please be sure you keep your contact information updated with us.

Additionally, the Mastercard® SecureCode™ site offers debit card protection when you shop online. No longer do you need to remember passwords. If needed, you may be sent a one-time-use code via your mobile device from First American Bank. This will help identify that it is you making the purchase and help prevent fraud on your account. There's no charge for this program that increases debit card protection.

The debit card fraud monitoring service will trigger communications to you as soon as potential fraud is detected. First, a text message will be sent to you. If you miss our text, you'll receive an automated phone call and/or email.
While you do not have the option to remove yourself from email or phone alerts, you can opt out of text alerts. Reply STOP to short code 22573.
If we do not receive a response from our text, phone call or email alerts, your card may be blocked from further use until you speak with a fraud specialist. During normal business hours, call our automated service at (800) 537-0496 to verify the transactions and to be connected to a fraud specialist.
