Took forever to open an account. Barely used the account , had one online transaction a month and just a few purchases . Had about 5 uber charges all in a row from a fake account across the country and had to undergo an investigation . Then had to wait for some forms , then had to sign them and wait some more. In the meantime the fraudulent charges went through even though I alerted the bank that they were fraud before they went through. Nearly 1 weeks later I am still waiting for the fake charges to be credited back to my account. Would not recommend this bank for more than just the interrogation (investigation) , their website is slow and archaic.

Joined the First American Bank about 3 weeks ago and my experience has been great! The team got me setup quickly and explained how the account works :) The bank also sent me a Thanksgiving card so sweet! The bank teller is also very nice as I stop by often to make deposits Definitely recommend this bank to anyone in the area.

I cannot speak of all the staff, but I have to say Eric Passini was just great to work with. I tend to ask hundreds of questions and none of them seem to be an inconvenience for him. He was informative, kind, trustworthy (which is not easy to find) and accomodating. He has handled my personal and business accounts and most recently the re-finance of my home. I strongly recommend working with him.

I'm not sure if they hired new people, short staffed or what. But now, every time I spend no less than 15 minutes in the drive though, sitting and waiting with no greeting while they process my checks. I deposited one check and sat at the window for 20 minutes. Never used to be this way.

So Unprofessional and very rude. My account my scam & when my direct deposit hit my account this bank took all of my money. My account is under investigation right now the experience that I had with this bank I will not recommend nobody to this bank at all. No matter what the situation is they are Quick to close your account

I was there to open a business account and there was roughly 7 employees sitting at their desk which two of them had customers i was the only other person there. I sat there for 15 minutes with out even getting greeted or asked to wait. Horrible customer service if that any indication on how they treat their customers i’d rather take my business else where.

Loan person was not experienced enough to give answers to mortgage questions in a timely manner or to anticipate issues. A week later the teller acted like she didn't know what a check was that was signed over to me, she didn't think that could be done. Had to go to Chase for proper assistance. I use this bank only because it is closest to where I live now, I opened the account at the Oak Lawn location. If you have to deal with personnel on a regular basis you will not like it.

First American bank is awesome!! David (Kankakee branch) is my and my mom's favorite. They really learn their customers. They are quick on fraud..that department knows their business. I've got my card info stolen twice and each time they took care of me quick and professionally. This is the bank that makes you feel like family. Both locations are loyal to your success with their company. They always notify you of upcoming events or promotions. They work with their community...fire department, schools, etc. Glad to be a member and will have my daughters become members too when they are old enough.

I unfortunately have to deal with them for work. I would not use them for a personal account. Even if last bank in world. No other bank that I have been to charges a higher fee or asks for a credit card number to cash a non acct payroll check drawn against the bank. No longer a fan of Dicky,Gamma or Boris.

I too have been a customer of First American Bank for over 20 years. But the frustration in not being able to use my debit card because of the chip problem has me now in a mode to change banks. I really hate to do this but I cannot live in a world of uncertainty about accessing the money I earn. Never had a problem with the card at any establishment until the chip. I've had three cards and the chip is faulty in all 3. I'm not hearing the problem for the other larger banks.

I have been banking with First American Bank since 1983 when I opened my very first checking account and financed one of my previous cars. Never had any bad experiences and personal very helpful and polite.
